On the Edge: Scenes from a Fractured Childhood

This not-yet-published memoir details a series of cataclysms, including a hundred-year flood and a devastating death. It exposes the fragility of a family life fractured by chronic illness, depression, and substance abuse, and of a working-class existence teetering on the edge of financial ruin. This is the story of my coming of age in and despite this family. It is a story about searching for steady guides amidst chaos, and for that ever-elusive sense of belonging.
